The elements of design are the parts that make the design work and they make it look aesthetically appealing as well as practically possible. Apart from lines, shapes and spaces, there are other elements that are secondary but just as important. One must have knowledge about these basic elements before opting for a Fashion Designing Course from Top Fashion Designing Colleges. These elements are:

Space: space is one thing that is used everywhere, in each design whether it is two dimensional or three dimensional. By using space in a design, it can be enlarged or reduced accordingly. There are various types of spaces that can be used while creating a design. Open and uncluttered spaces are ones where the elements are not tightly crammed and there room for eyes to wander. These spaces take more area and create an illusion of a large design space. Nice Utilization of space can be seen at IIFD Chandigarh Campus who offers the Best Fashion Designing Courses in Chandigarh. Cramped and busy spaces are not aesthetically appealing and must be avoided as they make the design very small and jammed. Use of good spaces is what makes the design a practically and aesthetically successful.

Texture: the surface of the design depicts texture. Texture can be smooth or coarse. Smooth texture is shinier and reflects more light. This leads to a more intense color of the design. Rough texture absorbs more light and usually has a matte finish as it’s not shiny. Rough texture appears darker than smooth texture. Texture also helps the design get its outlook. Textures can be manually created using various techniques such as knitting, weaving, embellishments such as embroidery or attaching beads and pieces onto the surface. For example, the texture of a satin fabric is smooth and shiny as compared to linen, which is coarse and dull. This is created using weaving techniques.

Value: color of the garment is an important element, and it can be further explained by Value. Value of the color is its lightness and darkness. Value can be created using different shades of the color. This is obtained by adding black to the color. Tints are the lighter hues of a particular color and are created when a color is mixed with white color. Color variation can occur when we mix or blend different colors to give different hues. Values don’t always produce solid colors.

A Detailed learning for these elements can be performed by joining India’s #1 Best Fashion Designing Institute in Chandigarh i.e IIFD (Indian Institute of Fashion & Design).
